We are going in March. The job is decided, the flat goes, and we have about seven months left. Posting now is slightly absurd and we have decided to do it anyway, because the alternative is spending the last part of our time here waiting politely to leave.
We are thirty three and thirty six, Neukölln, together six years and doing rope for eleven and nine respectively. He ties, I get tied, and neither of us has ever wanted it any other way.
What we would like is people. Dinner, evenings, the ordinary business of knowing a couple of other adults who do this. We have been here four years and have been surprisingly bad at that, which is the whole reason for the post: it turns out that if you never quite commit to a place, you never quite meet anybody in it.
We are perfectly aware that this city has a lot of people leaving in it and that everybody is tired of it. We would just rather be honest about the date than turn out to be another couple who vanish.
Not looking for a third, which is what happens whenever two people post anywhere. Not looking to join anything organised for seven months. And not looking for anybody who will invest in this as though it were permanent, since it very clearly is not.
