No photographs, no video, no accounts, nothing that could be forwarded by anybody to anybody. I know exactly how that reads on a board where most people lead with an image, and I have made my peace with getting fewer replies as a result.
The reason is dull and I will not be elaborating on it beyond this: I have a job where being findable is part of the work, and I would like the rest of my life not to be. That is a settled position, arrived at some years ago after one uncomfortable episode that taught me a great deal.
Thirty seven, north of the river, eleven years in and almost entirely invisible in this city. I go to very little. What that means for you is a partner who is genuinely present when he is with you and completely absent from everything else, and I am aware that some people find the second half of that lonely.
So the person I am after is somebody who wants this to be private for their own reasons rather than tolerating it for mine. There is a version of this life that is quite lovely: two people, a standing evening, nobody's opinion involved, no audience to perform any of it for. There is also a version that is isolating, and I have lived that one too.
Not looking for anybody who wants to be seen doing this. Not looking for someone who will ask, kindly and repeatedly, whether I would loosen up about photographs. And not looking for anything that involves meeting a group of people I have never met.
