Three years online, four months in the same room as another human being.

Where I grew up the nearest anything was two hours away and I had no car, so for three years all of this happened on a laptop in my bedroom with people I have never met and never will. Four months ago I moved here for a job, walked into a room with actual people in it, and had to sit down for a bit.

Twenty four, east London. What I have discovered since is that almost nothing transfers. I know a great deal about how this is discussed and nearly nothing about how it is done, and the gap between those two turns out to be most of the subject.

So what I would like first is somebody to go to things with. Not a partner, initially, and not a teacher. Somebody to stand next to who will not mind that I am quiet for the first hour, and who will tell me afterwards what I misread, because I misread most of it. I have been to four evenings now and I have said perhaps two hundred words in total across all of them.

If that turns into something, wonderful. I lean towards being tied more than tying, but I have done both online and I am not settled about it and would rather find out slowly than declare.

Not looking for anybody who wants to make me their protégée. Not looking for someone considerably older who finds all of this endearing. And not looking for anything to happen quickly, because I have moved cities, started a job and joined a scene in one season and that is enough novelty for a while.

Two people who both already tie is its own arithmetic. These three cover it.
