The good thing about this city is that nobody makes a fuss. The difficult thing about this city, if you are new, is that nobody makes a fuss, so nothing gets explained. Everybody talks as though you have been doing it for a decade and it would be faintly rude of them to check.
I have spent fourteen months nodding along and then going home to work out what was meant. That is not a complaint about anybody. It is just genuinely hard to ask a question when the room's whole style is that questions are unnecessary.
Twenty eight, Kreuzberg. What I would like is somebody patient enough to say the obvious things aloud once, without turning it into instruction, and then get on with it. There is a difference between explaining and teaching and I am after the first.
What I want in the longer run is one person and something steady. I lean strongly towards being tied and I have no curiosity at all about the other direction, which I mention because everybody asks.
Not looking for a teacher or a mentor, which is a whole category here and not what I am after. Not looking for somebody who will find my questions charming. And not looking for anything fast, since fourteen months in I would rather admit I am still working most of it out.
