I have more free time than anybody I know and it has turned out to be worth almost nothing on a board like this, because everyone else is at work. My weekdays are empty from Monday morning onwards. The people I might spend them with are all in an office until seven and then too tired to do anything but eat.

Fifty six, out in the commuter belt with a garden and a spare bedroom nobody uses. Fifteen years in this. My husband and I did it together for eleven of them and he died four years ago, and I want to say plainly that I am not looking for a replacement, because there is not one and looking for one would be unfair to whoever turned up.

What I would like is a long, slow, weekday partnership with somebody whose life also has daylight in it. Retired, working odd hours, self employed, between things, it makes no difference. I can offer an afternoon rather than an evening, no travel on your part, and a genuine willingness to go at whatever pace suits.

I am aware that most of this board is younger than me by twenty years and I am not bothered by that. I am not competing with anybody. I would simply like one person, once or twice a week, for as long as it goes on being good.

Not looking for anything that has to happen after nine at night. Not looking to be somebody's introduction to older women as a concept. And not looking to move fast, ever, about anything.

You would be the one tying. These three are about what the person in the rope actually needs.
