Riggers · north of the river, London
One room, one radiator, and nowhere at all to do this

- somebody realistic about where two people in this city actually go

My whole flat is one room with a bed in it and a kitchen along one wall. There is nowhere in here to do this and I have stopped pretending that a clever rearrangement of the furniture will change that. So every evening I spend on rope happens somewhere that is not mine, on somebody else's schedule, which decides how often it happens far more than wanting to ever has.
Thirty two, north of the river, five years in. I am putting this first because it is the single most common reason a promising thing has failed for me, and because I have twice let it emerge slowly and watched somebody conclude that I was being evasive about my living situation. I am not. It is just very small.
What I am looking for is somebody who will treat this as a shared logistical problem rather than as my problem. That might mean your place, if you have one and want to. It might mean neither, and a lot more talking in the first few months than either of us expected, which honestly did one of my better relationships no harm at all.
I want something that lasts. I am not interested in a run of first evenings, partly because at the rate this city allows them, a run of first evenings is all I would ever get.
Not looking for anyone who assumes a rigger must have a spare room. Not looking for a partner who wants to be shown off. And not looking for anything I would have to explain to my neighbours, who are lovely and extremely attentive.
