An hour of undivided attention is what I am here for. Not attention with a phone face down on the table, not attention with half a person elsewhere. Rope turns out to be the thing that produces it most dependably, and I have been informed twice now that this is the wrong reason to be on a board like this one.
Thirty three, Salford, four years in. I am not going to fake a devotion I do not have. I read nothing about it. I have no view on anybody's practice. The technical conversations at socials pass straight over my head and I gave up pretending to follow them about two years ago.
What I do have is a very specific hunger for being the only thing a person is thinking about. I get that here more dependably than anywhere else I have tried, including a decade of ordinary relationships with people who loved me and were still faintly elsewhere.
So I am looking for somebody who is not offended by that. Ideally somebody who does have the devotion, because then we both get what we came for and neither of us has to perform anything. A long thing, one person, an evening a week, over years rather than a season.
Not looking to be corrected about my own motives, which happened at length once and was extremely dull. Not looking for anyone who needs me to become a student of the subject. And not looking for a person who cannot sit still for an hour.
