Engage in selfbondage together!
Position the release key so it falls into a spacious open area on the floor, then race to claim it. The first person to secure the key (using one shared key for both participants) and manage to free him/herself gets to play with their partner and determines when they are released.
Both parties remain hogtied in separate corners of the room until the key drops, after which you must crawl to locate it. No cheating allowed; stay still until the timer ends. Blindfolds help add difficulty, as does having a backup release mechanism ready. Because locating the key takes time and some will likely stay bound even after retrieval, the key drop timer can be set shorter than usual.
To increase excitement, scatter several decoy keys across the floor so you have to test multiple options before finding the correct one.
