I have some free time to tinker with, and I’ve kicked off a campaign to liberate the Arduino Unos that are currently enslaved in various contraptions. My approach is simply swapping them out for Pro Minis. They cost practically nothing yet deliver identical functionality to a full-size Uno.
I’ve built other vibrator controllers before; my most recent one relied on an IR receiver (TSOP 4838) to capture and process signals from a TV remote. … brary.html handled all the heavy lifting; I just twisted it around for my own purposes. The available modes include: Stand-by Constant on 1:3 on/off 1:1 on/off Sinusoidal Sawtooth Random pulses with variable power and pauses … And there’s plenty of room to add more patterns later. The signal from the Arduino drives an IRL540, which can manage quite a bit of power.
