Here is a thought that could be fun, provided you have a solid grasp of knot tying to make it work in practice. I envision binding the hands together—not just at the wrists, but pressing palm against palm as well. The challenge lies in two areas: your fingers cannot curl around easily enough to guide the rope into place for tying, and once tied, they lack the dexterity to untie themselves. Enter the mouth. Using your teeth to grip and pull while your tongue assists with pushing makes it surprisingly capable of maneuvering materials. It isn’t great at undoing complex knots, but it works.

Does anyone know a knot style that can be tied using just the mouth, stays tight during typical movement in a scene, and is released by biting and tugging on a loose end?

My vision is hands secured in front of you, knotted with your teeth, then looping onto hooks attached to an ice-lock or similar mechanism. If the hook shape is right, it resists sliding back out, keeping your hands stuck near the groin (and bound tightly enough that self-stimulation is difficult) until the ice melts (or a series of them does for extra safety). Once released, you bring your hands up to your mouth again, bite the loose rope end, and pull to undo. You reverse the motion used to tie it initially to free yourself from any other restraints.

I’m not sure how reliable this approach is yet—maybe adding other ice-release restraints helps too, allowing you to shift toward a waiting knife (if blindfolded, attach the knife near your starting point so pulling away draws it off) which can cut the hand ropes if needed. (It would need to be a knife unless you’re exceptionally skilled with scissors—you have sight and mobility, so risk is manageable.) Does anyone who knows knots well think this works, or see how it could work?

Hello, The brief answer is "no". I can't imagine a way to tie the fingers securely so they don't slip. With just your mouth assisting, there's no intricate method to thread through previous stages; you'll mostly get simple wrapping around. If you manage that tightness without slipping, your fingers will likely go numb too quickly for any timed release. I recommend trying tape or saran wrap instead. jm2c, Joe.
