Time-Activated Lock Box

Hello, I stumbled across this just a moment ago:

It is essentially a plastic container, secured by some sort of electrical lock for durations ranging from one minute to ten days. Simply put your key inside and enjoy the experience. Sure, it’s just a plastic box, but it appears fairly sturdy. You could also view this as a useful backup release: you can smash the container if you really need an escape, though breaking a $40 box might make you hesitate. Another thought: perhaps this device could serve as the foundation for a very simple direct time lock? It would require some remanufacturing, but it seems potentially easier than building such a mechanism from scratch. What are your thoughts?

If only it were significantly smaller, I might purchase one. Actually, that could be a genuine market opportunity for someone. As far as I know, small timed safes are quite rare.
