Guidance on Latex Wear and Care

Hello everyone, I’ve been searching the boards and haven’t quite found a beginner-friendly post for Latex. I discovered several wonderful stories along with some EU sources, so I decided to create this thread as a resource hub. To be honest, it’s slightly selfish of me since I’m new to the Latex scene and seeking solid advice. I have had a nylon/spandex/lycra fetish for as long as I can recall. After witnessing excellent work with ladies bound and tormented in Latex at a local club, I felt this would be an ideal next step. I’ve done some research online, but I’d love to hear the gritty details from firsthand accounts. I suppose the obvious comment is to ask the ladies you saw at the club:!: as they will almost certainly be very happy to talk about their kink to a fellow latex perve:lol: and I have found that the kink people are very open and happy to talk about their fetishes etc. You might also try any local minches as there will be someone there also into latex - I know there are several at my Munch. I personally can't help, as whilst I have often admired the slinky ladies in their tight latex,or leather for that matter, I know I would like more like a tyre advert than a pleasantly curvy shape if I tried it! I understand the care of latex is to always clean it, polish it with the right stuff, use talc when putting it on, and be careful and gentle so you don't put a finger through it or otherwise tear it. Whilst I don't like promoting the site, you might try as I'm sure you will find US latex lovers there. I could only put you in touch with a few in the UK which won't help regarding suppliers. I do know that there are some very good manufacturers in the UK, often fellow kinksters who have learned how to use latex and now make gear for others. Again, personal contact is the way to go. But a simple rule, if it is cheap, it probably ins't very good - but this would only apply to the commercial suppliers rather than the one-person or small business who don't have the overheads and advertising to support.

Some other things I read about (I'm not really into Latex myself, except looking at latex'ed women:) ): - Store it in a shady place, since UV rays will damage it - Make sure it doesn't have sharp bends when you store it - You can also use lubricant to get in it. Talc has the disadvantage (or advantagte if you are into that) that it will create a big mess when it is mixed with sweat, which is very likely to happen if you wear it for some time. Make sure you use lubricant that will not harm the latex. Most lubricants will have it written on the package when it's safe to use with latex condoms, so those should be safe to use with non-condom latex as well:) - There are two methods to create clothes made of latex: Sewing latex parts together and something called "tauchen" in german (meaning creating it on one piece by putting something shaped like the end product into liquid latex). Sewn products have of course visible stitches, what may look undesirable, but paradoxically, they are normally of better quality. - The thicker the latex is, the more durable it will be. But it will also get heavy and inflexible.
