Wooden pony input requested

I’m keen on constructing a wooden pony of some kind, but I was curious to hear thoughts on the limits regarding angle and sharpness. A 90-degree setup feels somewhat mild, though having never ridden one myself, that could be wrong. Back when I tried a 2x4 quite a long time ago, it felt too gentle to really hold my interest. I don’t clearly remember if I was bearing my full weight on it or not, but I think so? Not entirely sure. I’m confident that taking the edge down to razor-sharp isn’t ideal. It’s just about finding that sweet spot in between. By the way, this will only ever be used by men. EBK
