I’ve learned about corseting and I’m eager to give it a go.
I haven’t worn one before, but that’s what I want. So which is the better starting point…a waist trainer or? Also, how can you tell if the size fits right? Does anyone have some solid tips for picking one out?
"Corset"? You could start with a cheap off-the-rack model to see if you want to get serious about it. For your first one, aim for a maximum waist reduction of 4 inches. The specific type doesn't matter too much; what counts is what you expect from it. An underbust style is more subtle, while an overbust offers better bust support, which is great if you are well-endowed (I speak from experience). If you decide to commit to waist training and want genuine, sturdy corsets, the custom route with trusted makers like Desert Orchid is a good option. You can find more detailed advice and other details in this fairly large archived discussion thread. Use the forum's search feature to locate all my posts on the topic (there are many of them—I tend to go on quite a bit about it... ). Jenny.
