A budget-friendly reusable substitute for gaffer tape

Hi everyone. Gaffer tape is a staple in any bondage kit, but it can get pricey if you use too much. A huge 50-metre roll disappears quickly over just a few sessions before being discarded.

A great budget-friendly substitute is bicycle inner tubes; even punctured ones are often free. Head to your local bike shop and ask for them—just be careful not to reveal they’re for tying yourself up, unless you want the staff to know! (They might get interested too.)

Once home with a load of tubes, cut off the valves and wash them to remove the internal white powder and surface dirt. Also perform a safety check for any embedded nails or sharp debris in the rubber.

You now have reusable 26”x 2” rubber ties. I like slicing some lengthways into halves and quarters to create various widths. I use these for tight OTM gagging, with ¼” strips wrapping around my head to help secure panty masks. You can also self-bind your fingers using them, finishing off the ends with a short piece of gaffer or insulating tape.
