Gag is painful:(

i recently picked up a ball gag with its headharness, but the only catch is that when I fasten it, the ring situated between my eyes tends to cause some discomfort. Does this seem typical to you, or could I be wearing it incorrectly? Thanks in advance for any replies!:)
