Bondage Toys Made with 3D Printing

Has anyone here tried making sex toys using 3D printing? With so many affordable services out there now, it seems like a limitless source of fun! For those unfamiliar - basically, modern tech lets us build objects layer by layer from plastic (or metal if you’re up for the extra cost). You design what you want in a modeling program and send the file off. They print it and return it to you within about two weeks. It’s widely used in industry for quick prototyping. They typically charge based on volume, keeping costs low. For instance, Ponoko ( one of the top services, prints nylon plastic for just $1.70/cm^3. Stainless steel runs around $10.53/cm^3. I brought this up because I’ve been looking into ice-release locks and really like designs such as these - … B003VSRBQY since they are virtually fail-safe (I can’t imagine a failure mode that wouldn’t result in release), but they come at a premium price (which makes sense given the R&D costs and niche market). However, if you don’t need that level of strength, you could likely get a plastic version printed for just a few bucks. Of course, there are some limitations (no extremely fine details or heavy structures supported by thin wires, etc.), but creativity is already flourishing. Anyone interested in weirdly shaped gags? I’d love to create something like a scold’s bridle, though my 3D modeling skills aren’t quite there yet. Or perhaps custom-fitted restraints. I plan to try making the ice lock soon enough. Tina.
