Navigating Public Life as a Crossdresser

I purchased these flats and have worn them out in public, assuming that walking around an office building counts as being in public. It feels difficult to do so because I worry about what others might think if they spot a man wearing flats. Unlike heels, which my pants can drape over to conceal, the flats are more visible. So how do you handle hiding them, or do you simply own up to it?
