Here’s a situation I shared with Anna some time ago that never made it to the website, and it has become my personal favorite. The concept involves wearing a locking collar attached to your closet’s horizontal rod. Naturally, this setup is much safer if your closet rod isn’t overly sturdy, allowing you to fall over without breaking anything. Afterward we cuff our hands; I like having them cuffed in front, though back works just as well. The release key lies on the floor, and you must pick it up with your toes to lift it toward your hands. The challenge is that the closet might be dark or you could have a blindfold on, making it hard to see the key among other scattered items like coins, bottle caps, and more keys. Ensure the closet has carpet; otherwise, picking things up with your toes becomes nearly impossible. Difficulty varies based on how much clutter covers the floor. During my first attempt, I escaped in just 30 minutes because the door was closed, but it got quite hot inside, so ensure there is good ventilation. On a recent try, with about 30 to 40 keys and roughly $50 in loose change scattered around, I remained trapped for six agonizing hours. I would love to know if anyone else attempts this or has suggestions to improve upon it.
