What Counts as Self-Bondage?

When I describe my BDSM/Fetish Lifestyle background to prospective partners, I usually leave out self bondage. Out of all my experience, about three-quarters is as a Dom/Top and just a quarter as a sub/bottom. But when I include only my adult self-bonding moments in the calculation, it looks like 60% of my total adult fetish/BDSM history involves being tied up by myself. This figure doesn’t cover how often I assisted or demonstrated to my play partner while tying them. Is it truly self bondage if another person is actively involved? Should we ever mention self-bondage when talking to a play partner?
