Here goes… A quote from the forum:
Hello everyone, since we’re on the “All and Everything” board, I wanted to share this news (and hopefully encourage some participation.) The “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event is an international march by men designed to raise funds and awareness for rape and sexual assault. Similar walks are held across the country, with proceeds supporting local crisis centers. It’s truly a noble cause, and you’ll come away with a fresh appreciation for women after walking a mile wearing heels. (Oops! Did I mention that part? Yes, every man completes the walk in high heels.) So, if there’s an event near you, I strongly encourage participation. I haven’t been able to join one yet because it seems I missed the registration deadline at my college, so I might have to wait a few months.
I see two main benefits for those of us who are interested:
-
A great opportunity to wear heels without drawing too much attention. Well… At least you’ll have a plausible reason for doing it. g
-
If you’re new to wearing heels and feel a bit awkward… check out the photos from previous marches. Take this fellow, for instance, standing casually yet radiating grace, confidence, and…uhm… Image Trust me, even if you feel like Bambi at first glance, there are others out there who work hard to help you look sharp. CheerfullyInsane.
