Playing with Power!

Okay, I had a neat idea for a mat yesterday while getting zapped with around 90,000 volts. It hurt like heck but was incredibly cool to see lightning bolts shoot out to each of my fingers:D So then… the BDSM side of me started wondering “what else can this do?” If you hooked up a basic Van de Graaff generator to a big sheet of foil resting on rubber bath mats, it would make for some serious torture while crossing over them:twisted: I’m planning to give it a go once I land another job (I’m still coughing up those student loans:cry: )

Next, you connect a wire from the generator’s dome to the foil-covered mats to maintain their charge (thanks to corona discharge). You might need one or more generators since there is no grounding with foils on the mats; when you step across, you get shocked.

Now I know what you’re thinking: “IS THIS SAFE OMG 20,000 VOLTS ODFOJSDFOJSFIDSJFDSIHFSI DJF!!!!!!!!!!!” To be honest, yes, it is.:lol: Remember that the power source is a 12-volt battery. You are boosting it up to about 10,000–15,000 volts. The amperage will be practically zero. It’s amps that do you in, not volts (keep that in mind). Even though a taser with 5,000 volts can kill you, this won’t because there is no significant current flow GEDDIT?

You could also use this setup with a partner if one of you uses those wand-like electric shock devices. ( I AM NOT ENCOURAGING THIS I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW) By the way, I read the thread about the person wearing an electric shock collar. One thing that gave me goosebumps was hearing them say “I like how the prongs dig into my neck.” If you decide to go that route FILE THE PRONGS DOWN AND REPLACE WITH A STRIP OF FOIL. Also keep in mind these gadgets can mess up your cell phones, watches, and even TVs! Make sure you ground yourself to discharge any static before handling anything.
