With the recent discussions regarding webcam selfbondage, I wanted to share some observations from my own sessions on Cam4. Cam4 lets you broadcast a live show in real time while also offering a chat room where viewers can interact with both you and each other. The platform includes a directory that periodically snapshots your stream with a custom title of your choice, allowing others to decide if they want to watch. These streams are ranked by popularity and categorized (male, female, shemale, couple, party). When someone visits your page, they see not just the cam feed and chat, but also your profile info, statistics, bio, and questionnaire, depending on how much you’ve filled out. Usually, when I’m doing selfbondage on cam, it’s hard for me to keep up with the chat room, so I titled my stream “Selfbondage on cam (read bio)”. My bio explains what I’m doing because most people seem confused about the situation. While running a show, I don’t have much else to do, so I tend to observe my viewers. Here are my findings: When someone is watching my cam, I can only identify them if they type in chat; then their name appears on my list. I’d guess that roughly 25% of the audience actually says something. The others? They’re likely just enjoying themselves, waiting to see what happens next, minimizing the window and forgetting about me, or getting bored quickly. Of that quarter who let me know they’re there, at least a third don’t speak English, so I’m unsure if they understand the action. Another group consists of “oblivious types” who miss the hint in my title. These folks either bombard me with questions I can’t answer or start giving orders as if I were such an obedient subbie that I’ll follow any self-proclaimed “Master” who walks into chat. Then there are about 10% who simply shout insults, questioning my intelligence for enjoying being tied up. The majority of the remaining viewers get it but struggle to accept it. They debate among themselves how anyone could possibly enjoy what they’re seeing. And FINALLY, a small 1% truly understand and wish me well. I cherish these people. To provide balance, I set up an alternate account here:
On this page, I play the role of someone’s slave, tied up for long periods to be tormented and humiliated by my audience. Again, only about a quarter of viewers on this account chat. Of those who do, a third are non-English speakers. Interestingly, fewer oblivious types appear here—maybe 15% don’t quite get it—and only around 20% bark orders at me. The rest seem happy to play along, either hurling insults or speaking sternly. These numbers are just estimates, of course, and my opinions aren’t necessarily shared by and its partners.
