An idea circulated on the ‘computer based release page’ regarding using Windows Media Player to eject a CD as part of the release process (by dropping a string into the drive). While some issues were noted, there’s also the problem of the CD spinning with a string inside it. Additionally, most computers finish ripping a CD in just minutes, which might not be long enough for proper bondage enjoyment. I discovered several freeware utilities and tweaked them to create an improved solution. The current program operates entirely within the WinXP/Vista command shell (I haven’t tested Vista yet, but the commands should remain identical) and offers greater stability than graphical applications. However, there remains a risk of catastrophic failure—such as a blue screen or power outage—that could prevent the drive from opening, so it’s not quite 100% reliable. You can find my program here: (17KB). Simply unzip and run ‘self bondage release.bat’, or create a shortcut for easier access. Credits go to various contributors since I merged their programs and wrote the batch file. The timer program originated from Lord of Shadows (his version is available here via a link found on this site. The CD eject utility came from a freeware website here. I plan to develop a graphical version supporting multiple release methods: fixed time, random time, x seconds, or even when SETI@Home detects extraterrestrial life … (joking about the last one) REMEMBER - Like any other method, this isn’t 100% safe. Test it before relying on it. Use a laptop with an uninterruptible power supply, ideally both.
