OK, I apologize if this approach has already been covered: On the mentioned community page, I shared some very basic release mechanism concepts - in my view perfectly suited for novices because they are straightforward and dependable. My core concept was that the ice could be part of the restraint OR that the melting ice would not free a key, but instead directly allow the user to open the restraining mechnism (a frozen condom blocking a spring link until the condom can be removed - but this can only happen after the ice melts). These methods are quite primitive. Either the ice sits in an open glass or is taken out of it; if left exposed, it melts quickly and feels uncomfortable because a decent amount of ice thaws near the body, OR it stays isolated, though then it might take ages for the restrains to come loose. But what if we use direct ice bondage as an alternate fail safe release? Core idea: Image I put both in my refrigerator for over 24 hours. At 20:30 I moved both into my bathtub. By 05:30 (9 hours later), their chains were still locked. At 19:00 (22 1/2 hours later), neither chain was locked anymore. For the small isolated bottle, in many situations it could easily sit close to the body, with cuffs attached to the chains. The standard release is simply waiting for the key which becomes accessible once some ice has melted. (It would be used to unlock the cuffs) An emergency exit involves a key that arrives with a shower of fluids (like Urine, Motor Oil, …). And the failsafe relies on the fact that the chains are held together by a block of ice (inside that isolated bottle) which will eventually melt. It makes sense to include this failsafe because both standard and emergency release assume that the user can open the locks with the key(s). What if, accidentally, the user positions themselves so the locks cannot be reached? What if their hands become immobile? etc. Furthermore, at 05:30, I noticed that the ice seemed to melt mostly from the top - the iceblock inside the bottle remained stationary, but there was plenty of cold water on top. So, by not letting the chains drop all the way to the bottom, perhaps only about a third down, it should be possible for the emergency release to trigger after roughly 4-5 hours. Additionally, body heat would speed up the meltíng. Thus, direct ice release with items like Image obtains an uncomfortable but dependable standard release (the emergency release being a key accompanied by urine) for novices. And a setup using an isolated bottle could serve as a useful backup release method (triggering after several hours) for others. The device shown in the picture above resulted in a release within 15 minutes. Using non-metallic Cuffs should also stop too much body heat from entering that ice (Brrrrrrr…).
