Assisted self-bondage?

Argument: The classic split of BDSM activities into main BDSM (Master-Slave dynamics) and self-bondage isn’t quite right. Why? Because some kink enthusiasts dislike terms like “control”, “submit”, “dominate”, and the concept that one person holds power over another. Conversely, they prefer words like “quest”, “dare”, “challenge”, valuing the idea of being clever and overcoming a problem. Naturally, these individuals fit well with self-bondage. This forum focuses largely on such situations: you design a scenario where you must complete a task to get free. So, what’s the issue? The term “self-bondage” implies that you set up your own dare all by yourself. Thus all this clever release mechanisms, intricate safety protocols, and so forth. But why not bring another person into the mix? Don’t label him a “Master”, call him an “Assistant”. He doesn’t impose his will on you, he doesn’t issue unexpected orders, he doesn’ have authority over you. He simply assists in executing your scenario. The core concept is that instead of relying on clever release tools, the assistant promises to free you when you finish your task, and also promises NOT to let you go until then. And, of course, he can cut you loose if there’s an emergency (safer than a second key), and he might enjoy watching your predicament.;-) Or, if you prefer the idea that your freedom depends not on some human (too mortal) factor, but on something objective and unyielding, you could keep using release gadgets in place (just like in standard self-bondage scenarios). The assistant’s role is then reduced to helping you set up everything, and watching without intervening (unless there’s real danger). I think these assisted scenarios might interest people here.
